A few of her accomplishments include: Board Member for the Nueces County Community Action Board; Board Member of the National Archives of the American GI Forum of the United States; Founder and local Chairwoman for the Coastal Bend Women's Chapter in Corpus Christi, Texas of the American GI Forum; Served as the State Chairwoman of the American GI Forum of Texas; Served as the National Chairwoman of the America GI Forum of the United States; Member of the Texas MANA (Mexican American Women's National Association); Served as a National Board member for MANA in Washington, D.C.; Served on the SER Board of Directors under the umbrella of SER National (Service, Employment, and Redevelopment National Network); Member of the Hispanic Education Foundation of the American GI Forum of the United States; Precinct Chair at Tom Brown Middle School for many years; Special Assistant to Dr. Hector P. As we do our very best to capture what an incredible woman Mary was to so many; we remember that it was her devout faith in Christ that led her there. She found her strength in God, and in turn taught her children to be strong, loyal, independent and caring. As a woman she was bold, graceful and elegant; as a wife she was devoted, humble and loving; as a mother and grandmother she was selfless, kind, and proud.
