Marcella Anne
Caldwell
December 21, 1941 – January 28, 2025
Marcella Anne Caldwell, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on January 28, 2025. She was surrounded by family in her last moments. Marty, as she was fondly known, graduated from Mercedes High School in 1958. Throughout her life, she held many jobs, but her most rewarding role was that of being a MOM, managing the household with 9 children and their father. With all of her children in school, someone's friends were always at the house, she enjoyed all her kids friends visiting and riding the horses.
Marty was one of the original Co-founders of Little Miss kickball League, a sport that continues to grow nationwide, along with her two closest friends, Barbara Miesen and Shirley Boyd. Marty coached numerous teams and was instrumental in making this sport a nationwide experience. She enjoyed being a part of all the girls' lives that she coached. They were the inspiration for her desire to be a mentor for the young girls.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles (Charlie) Caldwell; her children Lynda (Caldwell) Elliot, John David Caldwell and Dana Gill Caldwell.
She is survived by her children Charles (Chuck) Caldwell, his wife Terri; Charlene (Coleman) Fisher, her husband Brett; Connie (Coleman) Lines, her husband Jim; Kathy (Coleman) Williams, her husband Pat; Timothy (Tim) Caldwell, Janice (Caldwell) Berryman, her husband Chris; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; one brother Lawrence (Larry) Byrn, his wife Kathy.
