John Seberiano Salinas, passed away September 26, 2018 at the age of 70.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to his loving parents Seberiano and Frances Salinas on November 25, 1947.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving combat duty in Vietnam during 1968 and 1969.
He obtained his associates degree in the field of Psychology. He took on a career as a Longshoreman at the Port of Corpus Christi for the majority of his life, and became a member of the International Longshoreman's Association. Following his retirement from the Port, he became a small business owner by starting South Texas Chimney Sweeps. The legacy of John's kind spirit, passion for sports, love of reading, and zest for life will live on through those who loved him dearly.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife Charleen L. Salinas, his son John S. Salinas, Jr., and his parents.
He leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his children: John M. Salinas (Erin), Cynthia Ann Salinas, and Jennifer L. Salinas, numerous other members of the family and many caring friends.
Public Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, at Guardian Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors to follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
