He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose G. Vasquez and Paula Luna Vasquez; and his siblings, Guadalupe (Ernesto) Salazar, Jose Vasquez Jr., Candelario L. Vasquez, David L. Vasquez, and Daniel (Irma) Vasquez.

Arturo is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Irene Vasquez; his son, John David V. (Desarae) Valdez; his beloved grandchildren, Charlee Rose Valdez and Ava Valdez; and his goddaughter, Celeste S. Cruz. He is also survived by his siblings, Maltida (Jesus) Salas, Juan L. (Estella) Vasquez, Gloria Ramirez (his partner in crime), Graciela V. Arturo was a proud graduate of Moody High School, Class of 1972. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1972 to 1976 as a medic. Following his service, he worked as an accomplished welder at Sechrist Hall for 10 years and later as a salesman for Southwest Monuments for five years.

Arturo will always be remembered as the number one fan of the Dallas Cowboys and for his love of fishing, dancing, barbecuing, and telling jokes that brought laughter to those around him. Above all, he will be remembered for his deep love for his family and his strong faith in God.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
