In Loving Memory Of

Zack Garza entered into eternal peace on May 31, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love and prayers of his beloved family. He was born on November 5, 1941, in Villagran, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with his beloved mother and those he had long missed. Zack was a loving, caring, and wise man whose life was rooted in his faith and love for others. While he may not have possessed great material wealth, he gave abundantly of what mattered most—his love, kindness, generosity, time, and unwavering presence. God and family were the foundation of his life.

He began his ministry in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, before moving to the United States in the 1980s to continue sharing God's Word in Robert Lee, Texas. After faithfully serving there, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he continued his ministry at Templo Bautista, touching countless lives through his faith, compassion, and dedication. Zack will be remembered for his kind heart, thoughtful nature, and steadfast faith. He found joy in reading the Bible, sharing the Gospel, spending time with his family, and working on projects to improve his home and help others. He had a warm sense of humor and a loving spirit that made everyone around him feel welcomed and valued. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Even after developing dementia later in life, Zack remained strong in his faith and faced each day with courage and grace.

One of the greatest legacies Zack leaves behind is the importance of loving intentionally, remaining faithful, staying strong through life's challenges, and treating others with humility and kindness. He taught us that faith is the foundation of a meaningful life and that true wealth is not measured by possessions, but by the love we give, the time we share, and the memories we create with those we cherish. Zack was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Beatrice Cepeda; his brother, Jose Carretero ("Pepe"); his sister, Guadalupe Rodriguez Carretero; and his first wife, Maria Luisa Medina.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Elsa Garza; his daughters, Jocabed Garza, Genesis Garza, and Naomi Saucedo; his son, Noe Garza; his nieces, Adriana Rosales, Maria Rodriguez, Elizabeth Ornelas, Beatriz Saucedo, Aracely Torres, and Esther Rodriguez; his nephews, David Rodriguez, Isaias Rodriguez, and Joel Rodriguez; his brother-in-law, Miguel Rodriguez; and his cherished grandchildren, Skyla Rosales, Israel Rosales, Elijah Rosales, Giovanni Saucedo and Cyrene Garza. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory and the lasting impact he made on their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, followed by a Chapel Service at 1:00 p.m.

Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing that Zack's faith has become sight. His love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God and family will continue to inspire all who had the blessing of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
