Yolanda R. Gonzalez, age 76, passed away on June 9th, 2024. She was born October 8th,
1948 to Guadalupe Reyes and Anestacio S. Garza in Nueces County. She was raised in
Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1967.
Yolanda was married to Amando Gonzalez for 13 years. She worked many years for CCAD an
also worked at Mervyns Dept. Store.
Yolanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and
friend. She will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her strong commitment to her
catholic faith, service to her community and quiet nature.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her son Rodrigo Rodriguez Jr. Maternal grandmother that
raised her: Maria Casiano Reyes, mother, Guadalupe Gallardo, father: Anestacio S. Garza
(Jerry), father of her sons: Rodrigo R. Rodriguez Sr. and grandson Jacob Rodriguez.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Dominic Rodriguez, Christopher
Rodriguez, Rico Cano, Daniel Garcia, Tiffani Vasquez and Juan Vasquez.

Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories.   Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Guardian funeral home starting at 8:30 a.m. a Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. for a 12:00 noon Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic church, 2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.  A Reception will be held at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St./Carolyn.

I Made It Home

I just wanted to let you know I made it home.

Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh, so new. I wish that you could close your eyes so you could see it too.

Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of me...I'm in the shelter of His hands.

Here there is no sadness, and no sorrow, and no pain. Here there is no crying, and I'll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful, when all the angels sing. I really have to go now...I've just got to try my wings.
