William Granvel Ostergard

William Granvel Ostergard born on July 21, 1951, in Aransas Pass, Texas, died at Camp Wood, Texas July 25, 2016 at 65 years of age. He attended school in Corpus Christi, Texas and received his GED while in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged on July 13, 1973. He is survived by his father, Edward T. Ostergard, one brother, Richard Anthony Ostergard, three sisters, Zola Marie Ostergard, Peggy Jean Coffey, (Patrick Coffey), Andrea Yvette Banning, (Mark Banning). He is also survived by three uncles, Harvey Christian Ostergard(Carolyn Ostergard), Morris Peter Ostergard, Marlene Saleans), Ray Lake, (Mary Ann Lake), aunt, Nancy Cecil, and a whole catalog full of cousins in the United States, Canada, and Denmark. He is predeceased by his mother, Zola Vera Cecil Ostergard, his grandfather, Ole Christian Ostergard, his grandfather, Granvel Gibson Cecil, his grandmother, Olive Anna Ostergard, his grandmother, Zola Vera Yeargan Cecil, his uncles, William Lewis Ostergard, Anthony Cecil, William Melvin Cecil, Granvel Gibson Cecil, Jr., aunt, Edna Ostergard, aunt, Marjorie Meredith, aunt, Ellen Marie Wahl. William worked for twenty some odd years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, leaving at the onset of an illness that eventually took him from us. He will be missed by us. Public visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" and Services will be held at 12:00 noon with Mark A. Fuentes, Sr. officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd.
