Virginia Alice Lopez, 70 ,entered into eternal peace on Sunday October 12, 2014.

Virginia was born on February 23,1944 in Austin Texas to Luiz Z. and Beatriz Calderon. She was the youngest of 14 siblings. She graduated from William B. Travis High School in 1965 and worked several waitress jobs before becoming a homemaker for the last 30 years where she helped raise most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She married her soul mate, Merced Lopez Jr. on November 9, 1974. Together they raised their 5 children. She was a life member of the VFW Post 2397 and served as the past President of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Virginia was full of love, generosity and compassion for everyone she met. She was the life of every party, full of energy and always laughing. She enjoyed dancing and the beach and spending every minute she could with her 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was biggest Dallas Cowboy and Spurs Fan.

Virginia is survived by her children, John Albert Calderon (Anita), Veronica A. Ugues (Manuel), Merced Luis Lopez III, Solomon Lopez (Valerie), Priscilla Renee Lopez,(LeeRoy) and Ruth Nicole Lopez (John) .
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving sisters, Beatriz Garcia from Virginia, Susie Diaz from Henderson Nevada and Mary Huerta and Hattie Saldana both from Austin Tx, brothers Mike Calderon from Washington State and Luis Calderon Jr from Austin.


Family Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15th from 3pm-5pm. Public Visitation from 5-7pm with Prayer Services to begin at 7pm, all held at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown Access Rd. Corpus Christi
Funeral Services Thursday, October 16th at 10am at Guardian Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
