IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victor
Guillen
September 4, 1953 – February 17, 2026
Celebration of Life
The Lord is Peace Church
Starts at 7:00 pm
Victor Guillen, 72, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 4, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, to Michael and Herlinda Guillen, Victor carried with him a strong work ethic and deep devotion to family that defined his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Guillen; his children, Victor Jr. (Maricella) Guillen, Jesse Caballero, Stephanie (John) Rodriguez, and Rachel Ponce; and his siblings, Liz, David, Mike, and Oscar Guillen. He was a proud grandfather to Jesse, Jennavie, Jay, Victoria, Jacob, Hannah, Ryan, Jude, Charlie, and Jazzlynn, and a great-grandfather to Jonathan, Noah, and Gabriel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Herlinda Guillen, and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Caballero.
Victor's strong work ethic began at just 10 years old when he worked in the cotton fields of the Rio Grande Valley. By age 12, he was learning the roofing trade from his uncle. While attending Harlingen High School, he worked at a grocery store to save for his first car, a 1956 Chevy. Later, he relocated to Corpus Christi after being hired as general manager of a uniform plant. In 1992, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Guillen Roofing and Construction, building not only a successful business but a lasting legacy.
Through his dedication and craftsmanship, he helped shape the Corpus Christi community he loved. His work included restoration efforts at the Historic Ritz Theatre, as well as numerous buildings in the downtown area. His work remains throughout the Coastal Bend, reflecting the pride and integrity he brought to every project.
Though he worked tirelessly, nothing meant more to him than his family. He loved barbecuing, spending time at the beach, and attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he rarely missed an opportunity to show up for them.
Victor had a rare gift for connection and could find a friend in anyone. In a world that often feels rushed, he always made time for meaningful conversation. What began as a simple "How's it going?" could easily turn into an hour-long exchange filled with laughter and sincerity. He measured success not by what he gained, but by what he gave, quietly placing his family's happiness above his own.
A Celebration of Victor's Life will be held on Friday, March 13th at 7:00 p.m. at The Lord is Peace Church, 4730 Kostoryz Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. Victor believed life was meant to be celebrated, and his wish was for us to honor him by cherishing the gift of having known him. His legacy will continue to inspire, and his spirit will forever remain part of the community he loved so dearly.
