Vicki Rule Roth
Corpus Christi, TX
Vicki Rule Roth passed away January 6, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was born September 7, 1939, in Belleville, Illinois to Alfred and Violet Schwarz.
Vicki attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated with honors from The University of North Texas in Denton with a BS in Education. She went on to teach American history in Corpus Christi for 28 years at Tom Browne Junior High and W.B. Ray High. As she would recall in her stories, her proudest moments were bragging about what her former students went on to achieve.
Vicki loved Corpus Christi, spending time at the beach with her family and friends, walking with her husband in her neighborhood, volunteering at her church, and cheering on her beloved Houston Astros and Corpus Christi Hooks baseball teams. She was also an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where she was a member of the Altar Guild, the St. Frances Guild, and where she volunteered at The Good Shepherd Corner resale shop.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Richard Schwarz, and her daughter, Shelly Roth. She is survived by her husband, Lyndon Roth, sisters-in-law, Carol Schwarz and Sandra (Gene) Strickland, children, Walter (Meredith) Rule, Cindy (Ron) Gressett, Jerry (Lori) Roth, Gaylyn (Scott) Kinsley, Blake (Rachel) Roth, Mica Roth, Ronda (Tim) Dexter, and Derek Roth, as well as 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
