Vicente S. Vasquez went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, November 29, 2017.  He died peacefully at his home in Corpus Christi.  He was born April 9, 1927, in Tula, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria A Vasquez and his parents and several of his siblings.

He immigrated to the United States in the 1950's for a better way of life and to help support his parents and siblings.  In 1954, he married the love of his life, Maria A. Vasquez.  He was faithful to his faith and loved to declare the Word of God at St. Joseph Church.  Being a longtime member of the parish, he helped raised funds for various parish needs and always volunteering where needed.  In 1973, he was recognized by the City of Corpus Christi as an Honored Citizen by former Mayor Jason Luby of Corpus Christi.

His proudest moment was when he became a Citizen of the United States in 1973. He was a man of many trades and inventive, always finding ways to build things to help him or others to simplify their work or life needs.  His illness and amputation never held him back.  Though he may have been in a wheelchair for the last eleven months, he was active until the end of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Rachael and grandson Daniel (Adria Palacios) Vasquez, two beautiful great-granddaughters Ambria and Zenedaya, brother Jose E.  (Juana Maria) Vasquez, Corpus Christi, TX, and two sisters Carmen and Sr. Teresa Vasquez, Matamoros, Tamulipas, Mexico, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 , with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 710 S. 19th St., Corpus Christi, TX .

His resting place will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
