Vicente S. Morin, Sr.

Vicente S. Morin, Sr., age, 81, passed away September 20, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and good friend. Vicente was born in San Diego, Texas on October 27, 1931. He lived a full and active life always putting his family first and working hard to provide for them. He retired from Corn Products in 1979 and from CITGO Refinery in 1993. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War with the 2nd Infantry Division from 1953-1954.
Mr. Morin was always involved with his children in many sporting activities. He was an active parishioner in several parishes in the city such as Christ the King and Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parishes. Most recently he was a parishioner at Most Precious Blood Church. Mr. Morin was a person that was always willing to lend a helping hand to any friend or person in need. He enjoyed being with his family at family functions and sharing in the activities of his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Patricio and Anselma Santana Morin from San Diego, Texas, and his first wife and mother of his seven children, Lupita Gonzalez Morin.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mary Villarreal Morin; his children: Sons, Patrick L. ,Dr. Vincent G. Jr.(Lydia), and Richard G. (Cathy) all from Corpus Christi, daughters, Elizabeth Duron (Luis) from Austin, Margaret Rose from Corpus Christi, Theresa Lopez (Jose Jr.) and Angela Roeth (Dr. Charles) from San Antonio, two step-daughters, Celia Fossum (Dr. Greg) and Cynthia Schuman (Mark) both from Corpus Christi. Mr. Morin is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Eliseo S. Morin (Mary Lou) and one sister, Herminia M. Perez (the late Jose Oscar) both from San Diego, Texas. Several nieces, nephews, and many friends have been a part of his life.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary and Celebration of Mr. Morin's life to begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral procession will depart Guardian Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10:30 a.m, for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd. Interment with Military Honors will follow at The Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery. 9974 IH 37 access road.
Pallbearers will be his seven children. Mr. Morin requested that his children who had been carried by him as children would now carry him to his place of rest.
