In Loving Memory Of

Vicenta M. Aguilar was called home by our Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on July 4, 1934, In Falfurrias, Texas to her parents Vidal Maldonado and Reynalda Gonzalez.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Encarnacion G. Aguilar and her daughter Sylvia. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Perez, Violanda A. Martinez and 2 half-sisters Viola Maldonado and Beatrice Garcia, 3 brothers Vitalio, Vilsen, Virgilio Maldonado and 1 half-brother Mario Maldonado. Survived by 2 half-brothers Vidal and Juan Maldonado.

As a child Vicenta attended the Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a graduate of Roy Miller High School.

Vicenta is survived by her 10 loving children Manuel (Virginia), Azalia, Rebecca (Manuel), Eduardo (Nelly), Jesus (Michelle), Ernesto (Rosalinda), Esther (Raul), Cristobal, Criselda (Anthony) and Carlos (Rikki). She was a proud and devoted grandmother blessed with 34 Grandchildren, 79 Great Grandchildren and 25 Great Great Grandchildren. Leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith and family.

Vicenta was a longtime resident of Taft, Texas, where she lived for 65 years. She was well known for her pan de polvo, her beautiful wedding cakes and quinceanera doll cakes, as well as her talents as a seamstress. She lovingly created garments and personalized pieces for various organizations in Taft, along for many friends and family members.

As a devoted woman of faith, Vicenta attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Taft and was an active member of the Legion of Mary, with a deep devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. She was also a member of the Schoenstatt Movement in Lamar, Texas. Throughout her life, she shared her love of music as a choir member in several Catholic Churches in the area and participated in church retreats and prayer groups.

Vicenta was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Service Information

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31st from 4pm-8pm and the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue the following day on Wednesday, April 1st at 8:30am. The Funeral Mass will be at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church and the Burial will follow at The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1pm.
