Vernice Doty Dewing, passed away August 28, 2018 at the age of 98 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was born March 19, 1920 in Obion, Tennessee.

Vernice was united in marriage in 1941, with Albert Carl Dewing of St. James, Missouri. From their union, two daughters, Patti Jeanne Dewing and Alverna Lee Smith (James), were born.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her two loving daughters, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Mrs. Dewing was employed by the United States Geological Survey in Rolla, Missouri from 1950, until she retired in 1981 and was an active member of the First Christian Church in Rolla. Vernice moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1994 where she was an active member of South Shore Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William Cleatus Doty.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. September 8 at Waterford Assisted Living.

Burial will be in Rolla, MO, at a later date.
