Tommie Lee Hubbard; age 82, was called home on June 20, 2023. He was born September 9th, 1940, to John Henry Hubbard and Eliza Ann Hubbard in Prairie Lea, Texas.

He is the fifth of seven children. In 1952 he moved with his family to Robstown, Texas and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he went to West OSO High School. He joined the Army in 1963 and served in Germany as a mechanic and truck driver until his return to Corpus Christi, where he spent several years working in construction with his father and brothers building homes in the Molina neighborhood. In 1981 he was united in holy matrimony to Hattie Mae Glynn where they remained married until Hattie Mae's death in 2014. Tommie loved sports, especially baseball. Anyone who wanted to learn, he was willing to teach, including a host of nieces and nephews, at the Pony League Baseball Field. He never had children but was a major impact and father figure to many. Tommie spent a lot of time outdoors in nature and BBQing for his family even if he burned it! He also enjoyed going to the racetrack and took pleasure in watching the competitions. When he wasn't outdoors, he enjoyed driving his green chevy truck and showing up for those who needed a helping hand. Tommie was a cool, funny and wholesome family man, no family gathering was complete until Tommie attended. Although he was a man of few words, his actions said it all.

He is preceded in death by his wife Hattie Mae Hubbard, his parents John Henry Hubbard and Eliza Ann Hubbard, his siblings Hazel Harris, Charles" Sonny" Hubbard, Robbie "Poochie" Hubbard, Bobbie Hubbard.

He is survived by his baby sister Betty Joyce Hubbard of Corpus Christi Texas, and baby brother Cliffton Ray Hubbard of Austin, Texas. Tommie leaves behind to forever cherish his memories a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

There will be a Visitation held at Guardian Funeral Home on July 1st from 9am-11:30am and a Chapel Service will be held at 11:30am . Burial will be on July 5th at 10am at The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
