IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tomas Mario
Ramirez, Jr.
March 20, 1968 – October 9, 2021
Tomas Mario Ramirez, Jr., age 53, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 after fighting cancer for over twenty years.
Tom was born in Laredo, Texas on March 20, 1968. He graduated Salutatorian of his class at Hebbronville High School in 1986. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin and then Texas A&I University in Kingsville. He received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences and Business Management from the University of Phoenix. After working in retail for many years, he worked at Texas A&M Kingsville as a dispatcher and video surveillance manager. Tom loved his Dallas Cowboys and even an occasional University of Texas football game, but most importantly, his other passions were Star Wars movies, dove hunts, and family reunions. He was a kind soul and never asked for anything. He lived a simple life, but the focus of his attention was always directed on his family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Catherine; son, Tomas Mario Ramirez III; daughter Taylor Marie Ramirez; and mother of his children, Rose Marie Damron. He also is survived by his father, Tomas Mario Ramirez, Sr.; mother, Hilda Alvarez Ramirez; sister, Marlo R. Bazan (Carlos); brother, Samuel Jaime Ramirez (Jessica Renée); mother-in-law, Carmela Gonzales; stepson, Joseph Michael Hauck; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom's cousin Gilbert (Donny) Davila said it best: "Tommy was a gentle light. His light was an unselfish one because he chose to shine that light on others rather than himself. His light illuminated the best in humanity and made others feel seen."
Family will begin gathering at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A at 5922 Crosstown Access Road (SH 286) in Corpus Christi, Texas with the Celebration of Life Service and Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
