Dr. Thomas Franklin Ryan, Jr. , 90 years of age went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 25, 1925, but grew up in Falfurrias, Texas and graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1943, then Texas A & M College in 1951. Dr. Ryan practice Veterinary Medicine for over sixty years, and he served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Air Force and remained in the Reserves and attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a member of the Rotary Club, American Vet. Medical Association-Chicago, Texas American Vet. Medical Association, Austin, Texas, Arkansas Vet. Medcial Association-Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Franklin Ryan, Sr., and Agnes Miller Franklin, his brothers, Jack Ryan, Will Ryan. Dr. Ryan had a generous heart and outstanding personality and was always helping others. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Marie Ryan, daughters, Elizabeth A. Stukes of Manning, South Carolina, and Melissa G. Ryan of Kingsville, Texas, brother Jon Ryan of Houston, Tx, grandchildren, Matthew A. Thomas and Marie A. Stukes both of Manning, South Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved. A Memorial service celebrating Dr. Ryan's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A". Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery, 9974 IH 37 access Rd.
