Sylvia A. Alvarez age 51 passed away on December 10, 2017 after a long illness. she was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Alvarez. She is survived by her mother Aurora Alvarez, brothers David (Sylvia) Alvarez and Samuel (Dorothy) Alvarez and numerous nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic church 1101 Bloomington St. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
