Susie Garcia Lopez "La Tia", age 70 passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Susie was born on May 5, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Manuel and Manuela Gonzalez Garcia. Susie was a graduate of Roy Miller High School Class of 1971, as well as Del Mar College graduate. Susie was a proud retired LVN. She worked most of her 25-year career at Retama Manor Nursing Home, retiring from Sunnybrook Nursing Home.  She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Manuela G. Garcia, sisters Loida G. Luna, Natividad G. Vela, Anita G. Moya, brothers, Clemente, Pedro, and Manuel Garcia Jr. Nieces Amelia G. Franco, Mary Annette Esquivel, and nephews Paul M. Moya, Tony Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years Valente P. Lopez, and by the true loves of her life her son Sergio J. Vasquez "Jay" and her two grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart Jaelyn and Aiden Vasquez. Surviving also are two sisters, Maria G. Esquivel, and Amelia G. Clark. Numerous nieces and nephews. Susie was a loving mother, aunt, and friend. Susie was affectionately known as Tia Susana and Tia Lila. She was the one her family called when they were sick, she always had a remedy for them. Susie also took care of her great nieces and nephews who loved her very much and will miss her so very much. Susie loved to listen to conjunto music. She loved to call her sister Maria daily. She liked thrifting, going on errands with her sister and nieces, being "en la calle" as she would say. Susie's presence will be greatly missed at family gatherings, as she was the family's designated cake cutter. Her family is absolutely heartbroken with her departure but know that she is now in Heaven pain and illness free. Her memories will live in our hearts and will be cherished forever.

Services will be on Friday November 10, 2023

Public viewing from 4pm to 8pm Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Services will conclude that same evening.
