Obituary

Susan Marie Bell- beloved daughter, sister, aunt and a woman of kindness and spirited joy, left this world on February 7, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on October 22, 1965, at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio, Susan's journey was one marked by an unwavering zest for life and an ability to uplift everyone around her.

Susan's early years were spent in the heart of Cedar, Minnesota. A proud graduate of St. Francis High School's class of 1984, she carried the spirit of her hometown with her long after she turned her tassel. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Anoka Ramsey Community College, where she furthered her education and prepared for a future as bright as her smile.

For many years, Susan was the heart and soul of Hawks Sports Bar in Monticello, Minnesota, where she managed not just a business but a community. Her laughter was a familiar melody to those who walked through the doors, and her presence was a comfort to the regulars who considered her a part of their extended family. In 2020, Susan embraced a new adventure, moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she continued to shine as a member of the Swank, Salch, and Henderson CPAs team. Her ability to connect with people transcended state lines, and she quickly became as cherished in Texas as she was in Minnesota.

Susan's passions painted a vivid portrait of who she was: a woman who loved deeply and lived fully. Her cat Buddy was more than a pet; he was her confidant and companion. Sundays were sacred, not just for their tranquility but for the roar of the crowd as she cheered on her beloved Minnesota Vikings. Her pride in her Jeep was matched only by the joy she found with her toes in the sand, the ocean breeze whispering tales of distant shores.

Though she dearly missed her Hawks family and friends in Minnesota, Susan carried their memories with her like a treasure chest of moments that shaped her journey. Her infectious spirit was a testament to the idea that home is not just a place but the people and memories we hold dear.

Susan's family was the cornerstone of her world. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Bell (Christine), and Robert Bell of Corpus Christi, Texas; her nieces, Janine Cox (Andrew) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Caryn McAnelly (Ronald) of Maricopa, Arizona; her nephew, LCDR Derek Bell of Yokosuka, Japan; and her great-nieces and nephews, Jade, Zaxton, Ajaye, Neveah, and Georgia McAnelly, and Logan and Addison Cox.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marilyn Bell, and her brother, James Bell.

To speak of Susan is to speak of a life lived with intention, a path marked by genuine connections and a legacy of love. She was the embodiment of kindness, a friend to all, and a spirit that could not be dimmed. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the hearts of those she inspired. Let us honor Susan Marie Bell by living as she did—with an open heart. Let us remember her each time our toes hit the warm Texas sand.

Susan wished to not have a funeral service and wanted only to be buried alongside her brother Jim.
