IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephanie Dean
Schuette
June 16, 1973 – January 26, 2026
Stephanie Dean Brown Schuette, 52, of George West, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, after a courageous and grace-filled battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Stephanie was a devoted wife, mother, Nonie, daughter, sister, and friend. She was known for her warm smile, unwavering positivity, and the way she made everyone feel seen and deeply loved.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Daniel Schuette; her daughters, Abbigail Dean Rabe and Grace Belle Schuette; her cherished grandchildren, Ivey Grace Rabe and Baker James Rabe; her brother, Jimmy Brown; her parents, Bob and Nancy Brown; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Stephanie was a faithful member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in George West, where she raised her daughters and lovingly served in the Godly Play children's ministry.
She earned her Bachelor's degree from Del Mar College and her Master's degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, later becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. She dedicated her career to serving children and families as a school counselor in Three Rivers and George West, and later as director of the wellness program in Mathis, Texas. Helping others was not just her profession—it was who she was.
Stephanie loved life on the family ranch in George West, where she raised her two daughters surrounded by livestock, wide-open spaces, and simple joy. She had a rare gift for making people feel safe, welcomed, and valued. In recent years, her greatest joy was becoming Nonie to her grandchildren, Ivey and Baker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus Christi, Texas, with a reception to follow in Munds Hall.
Rooted in faith, her light was steady and reassuring, reminding all who knew her that they are worthy of God's love and capable of doing hard things.
