Stella Villarreal Barrientes of Corpus Christi, TX, went to the Lord on Saturday, July
14, 2018. Stella was born in San Antonio TX, February 1, 1934. She was a loving
mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many others who
needed and wanted her love and affection. She was a great cook and always
eager to feed you with food, sweets, or advice. She loved to be around family and
friends, and was always making new friends wherever she went. She loved music
and dancing. Stella was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church and lived
her faith daily through her words and actions.
She is survived by her son, Pete Barrientes III, daughter Mona Tehle (husband
David) of San Diego, CA, daughter Casilda Vasquez, five grandchildren, three great
grandchildren, and sister Patsy Sarrazin (husband Robert) of San Antonio, TX,
along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by mother Jesusa M. DeLeon, father Catarino P.
Villarreal, and sisters Josephine V. Garcia, and Lucy V. Cano.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 followed by a rosary at 7
p.m. at the Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown Expressway, Corpus Christi,
TX 78417. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at
Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State
Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX. She will be buried alongside her loving
husband of 63 years, Pete Barrientes Jr. Reception to follow at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St.
