Just 69 years after coming into the world, Silvia Mata (Nana) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, on February 19, 2022 with her husband by her side.

Silvia joins her friends Nora, Pam and the Walkers in heaven.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Frank Mata Jr.; her only son Adrian, wife Carrie; her first daughter Melissa, husband Lumel and her second daughter Monique, husband Sergio; treasured grandchildren: Myles, K'Lynn, husband Bill, Kathleen, Sergio III, Adireana and her precious great-grandchildren Zander, Ace and Sophie. Silvia also leaves behind her loyal companion Pennie, the weenie dog.

Silvia touched many lives and will always be remember, by all who met her, for her humor and her honesty. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and really enjoyed camping with her family. She also loved traveling with her husband to visit family in Houston and her daughter and son-in-law in Fort Worth. Silvia loved Christmas time and baking for her family and neighbors.

Nana loved good comfortable shoes in every color, sparkly jewelry and a good smelling perfume, luckily dad supplied her with all she could ever want. We're going to miss Nana but we know she will be the first one to greet us at the gates of heaven when we arrive.

Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Chapel Service to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A.

In leu of flowers, buy lunch for a CNA or RN working at your local nursing home or rehabilitation facility.
