IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Silverio "Robert"
Martinez, Iii
June 13, 1953 – September 30, 2023
Silverio Martinez, III, loving known as Robert, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 30, 2023 at the age of 70, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was born on June 13, 1953 to his parents Francisca and Silverio Martinez, Jr. in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many is now at rest.
He received his formal education from West Oso High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Many knew Silverio as a Low Rider Car enthusiast. In his younger life he was the president of the Corpus Christi Bajito Low Rider Club. You could find him in his 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo or his favorite 1964 Chevy Impala; the beautiful emerald green paint glistened in the sun as the midnight blue top finished the production. Once he installed the hydraulic system, it was over! He found great joy in putting on a show for the people, bouncing around for hours at a time. This trophy car can be found in numerous publications, most notably was the Low Rider Magazine, an accomplishment he held with great esteem. The friendships he formed in his club have lasted a lifetime and to this day he remains well known throughout the Low Rider Community.
With his meticulous attention to detail, he turned his knack for a beautiful clean car into a profession. He worked all throughout the Coastal Bend with numerous car dealerships both working and managing their vehicle detailing departments. His skill was unmatched, he would happily spend hours ensuring that each car was in perfect condition.
Although he will be remembered for his dedication to hard work, he also enjoyed dressing well and looking sharp. His clothing had to be pressed and starched to his high standards; otherwise, it was unacceptable. From the 1970s leisure suits with the collar showing above the neck, or a simple Pender shirt, to his Stacy Adams dress shoes; he always made a statement with his clothing.
His legacy will live on for generations to come.
Silverio is joined now in heaven by his parents Francisca and Silverio Martinez, Jr.; daughter Jacqueline M. Natividad; sister Olga M. Speer and niece Brandi Mairena.
He is survived by his wife Celia Martinez, children : Michelle (Edward) Roberts, Sabrina Martinez, T.J. (Linda) Martinez, Marie Martinez; siblings: Bettie Jane Lueggie, Ramiro Martinez, Mary Garcia, Josie (Karl) Wagner, Tommie (Frank) Martinez, Diego Ricardo (Angela) Martinez, Sandra Laney, Juan A. (Roselie) Martinez, and Janie Martinez; along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren : Yvette Perez, Megan (Jose) Rodriguez, Cassandra (Christopher) Trevino, Rudi Nicole Natividad, Gabriella Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Christina Martinez, Natalie Martinez, Emily Martinez, Rudyboy Ledesma, Madalee Martinez, Amrin Martinez, Jacob Martinez, David Molina, Hazel Molina, Dylan Molina, Derek Molina, Mia Molina and numerous extended members of the family whom he loved.
