On the cloudy, muggy morning of February 16, 2022, a beautiful mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and wife leapt into the arms of her Heavenly Father. Shaun Denise Patricia Jones , 51, passed away peacefully with her loving husband of 15 years by her side as the sun dawned over Corpus Christi.

Born July 7, 1970 in San Antonio, TX, Shaun was the daughter of the late Joseph Scott Patricia of Crestview, FL, and the late Janis Carol Kempe Adams and Robert Charles Adams of Lagarto, TX.  At the age of 12, Shaun accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized with her twin sister at First Baptist Church in Portland, TX. After graduating from Gregory-Portland High School in 1988, Shaun married Jody Robert Claybourn on August 8, 1992 and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A & I University in 1993. She began a career in education at Alief Middle School in Houston, where she taught history and French.  Shaun then started her family with daughters Darian Kate on August 10, 1996 and Jenna Mary on July 31, 2000.

A move back to South Texas came shortly thereafter, and Shaun started a new career as a paralegal with Jordan, Hyden, Womble, and Culbreth. Her second chance at love came in 2005 when she met a rugged, handsome baseball player, Lance Dee Jones of Flour Bluff.  The couple moved to Flour Bluff and married on March 25, 2006.  Their marriage added another to her family, Lance's son, Shayne Anthony Jones. Shaun loved beach life and spent her time working tirelessly as a paralegal and supporting her family's activities, including cheering for Jenna at the Special Olympics, supporting Lance at baseball games, encouraging Darian's art talent, jamming to Shayne's drums, and even running and playing kickball herself.  Recently, she donned a "Proud Air Force Mom" shirt when Shayne enlisted, shared loving pictures of Darian's wedding, and sent text blasts of Jenna's bowling wins. Her pride didn't stop with her children, as she would arrange viewing parties for Southern Arkansas football, sport a Clemson shirt and dare anyone to say something, and loudly cheer her nieces and nephews as they graduated high school. A truly caring soul, she gave her time and love to nurse her beloved mother through a fight with cancer and would oftentimes fly to the side of any family member who needed her. Shaun was a hero to others who may never know her name because she was an organ donor, giving life even in her passing.

Shaun is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Patricia and Janis Adams.  She is survived by her loving husband, Lance Jones of Flour Bluff; her twin sister, Stacey "Sis" Patricia Hall (Lonny) of Charleston, SC; her brothers, Scott Aaron Patricia (Leia) of Forney and Joseph Seth Patricia (Yeily) of Fort Mill, SC; stepsisters Kimberly Beals (Alan) of Portland and Tracey Adams of Austin; her stepfather, Bob Adams of Lagarto; and her children, Darian Claybourn Lee (Mikey) of Aransas Pass, Shayne Jones of Bellevue, NE, and Jenna Claybourn of Flour Bluff.

Shaun's life will be remembered and celebrated with a memorial service on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1317 Flour Bluff Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78418.  The family will receive friends directly following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, or the Southwest Transplant Alliance.
