Sara
Gamboa
Jan 2, 1960 — Aug 23, 2026
Corpus Christi
In Loving Memory
Our sweet Sara was taken too soon from us on August 23, 2026 at 66 years of age, after a sudden illness. Sara was the strongest woman we know and fought courageously and valiantly against an aggressive Cancer. We were astounded by her bravery, strength and Grace during her battle. She had previously fought breast cancer 23 years ago and was in remission.
Sara was born on January 2, 1960 to Juan and Guadalupe Gamboa.
Sara graduated from West Oso High School in 1978. She enjoyed travel and lived and worked in San Diego, California, and parts of Colorado Including Gunnison and Mount Crested Butte. She returned to her home town and worked at Early childhood development center, and for West Oso Independent School district Food Services for 30 years where she recently retired from in 2025.
Sara loved God, music, The Dallas Cowboys, her family, friends and her puppy Jeremy. She enjoyed the occasional slot machine, parties, watching boxing, and even the occasional ice cold beer. She had a great sense of humor and a shockingly loud scream laugh.
She was the most selfless, most caring, loving woman we know. She was the primary caretaker for her mother for these many years. She helped care for her many nieces and nephews and was a second mother to many. She was loved and respected as such. She was a fierce protector and confidant to her sisters. She had many friends and cherished those relationships.
We will always remember Sara for her feistiness as well as her amazing capacity to love us all so well. She always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special days.
Sara was preceded in death by her Father Juan Gamboa, Brother Fernando Gamboa and Brother In law Frank Garcia.
She is survived by her mother Guadalupe Gamboa, her siblings :Identical twin Sister Clara( Frank)Garcia, Anita Gamboa(Victor), Alicia (Juan) Salazar, Lucia Gamboa, Juanita (James) Stanley, Juan (Lory)Gamboa, Francisca(Arnnop) Sangapol. She also leaves with her beautiful memories her 17 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.
We will miss her immensely in our everyday lives, but are so grateful that she was ours and for her life and love. We will see you again Beautiful Sara. You are loved and will be for eternity.
