Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sandy Benavidez Coleman. She completed her earthly journey on November 16, 2022 at the age of 66.

Sandy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to her parents Adelina Hernandez and Reymundo Benavidez on April 17, 1956.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many is now at rest. Her beautiful spirit brought great light into our lives and the love that she blessed our family with is beyond measure. She was strong willed, full of courage, kindness and strength. With a zest for life she fought through every challenge life presented to her and she did it without fear. Never once did she complain about her own pains or struggles; her humble heart was always concerned about those she loved. Sandy was a true warrior. Some would say she never met a stranger, with friendships near and far she impacted the lives of many. Our hearts ache as we bid farewell to her but we remind ourselves that her beautiful legacy will live on in each and every one of us.

Sandy joins now in heaven her father Reymundo Benavidez Sr.; mother Adelina Hernandez; 3 brothers and two grand angels.

She is survived by husband of 51 years Vidal Coleman Sr. the two would be celebrating 52 years of marriage on December 14; daughters: Yolanda Coleman (Reymundo Abrego); Cynthia Coleman; son Boy Vidal Coleman Jr.; son/grandson Michael Montano (Selena Alvarado); 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; along with a host of extended members of family and countless friends whom she loved.

Per Sandy's request there will not be a formal funeral home service; as the holidays approach remember to celebrate her life in your own home; remember all of the wonderful moments that you shared with her; times of laughter and joy and also call to mind the lessons she instilled in your lives.

A warm thank you to all of you who have extended your condolences; your love is felt and appreciated. Please take a moment to sign the digital guest book below.
