San Juanita "Janie" Rangel passed away peacefully at her home in Robstown, Texas surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 63.

She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 4, 1957 to the late Gilberto and Eugenia Hernandez.

Janie is preceded in death by both of her parents.

It is impossible to capture the full legacy which Janie leaves in our hearts; a legacy of love, happiness and complete joy. She was whole heatedly devoted to her vocation as a faithful and loving wife, a caring mother, and a self-less grandmother, and great-grandmother. There is not anything in the world Janie wouldn't do to ensure her family was well kept, well dressed, and of course well fed.

On September 23, 1972 two lives would be joined as one, when Martin Rangel, Jr. and San Juanita Rios committed their hearts to the bond of marriage. Together they brought to life 5 healthy children; and enough memories to last a lifetime.

Although our hearts are broken to lose such a strong and bold matriarch, we know that her love surrounds us each day, we continue to smile as we remember a life well lived.

Janie leaves behind to cherish these memories; husband of 48 years Martin Rangel, Jr.; children:  Edna Rangel, Martin (Christina) Rangel, III, Sylvia Rangel Cumberledge, Yvette (Gabriel) Lopez, Yvonne Rangel; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings; along with countless nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

Public Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel A, with a Prayer Service to take place at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel A; with the burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Seaside Memorial Park.
