“Janie” Clark
February 19, 1962 – January 31, 2021
San Juanita "Janie" Clark was born on February 19 th , 1962 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Thomas M. Clark and Maria De Los Santos. She was one of four children and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Isidoro Herrera. Janie graduated from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas and married Carlos Ortiz III in 1982. They moved to California where she had her first child, Carlos Ortiz IV and later moved to San Antonio, Texas where she had her second child, Sabrina Yvette Jerrett. While married to Carlos, she was able to travel throughout the United States, Europe, and even travel to South Korea. She held various jobs throughout her travels around the world and developed friendships that have lasted till this day.
Janie was a family-oriented person and enjoyed her time with her children, grandchildren, and her recently reunited family from her biological father. She loved to dance, sing, party, listen to music, play games, and just talk about life. Her love for dancing, country music and the musical group ABBA, got her the name "Dancing Queen" from her friends. She was the life of the party and was someone who put family and friends first.
Janie was a fighter all the way to the end and never gave up on living her life for her family. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on January 31 st , 2021. She will be forever remembered by her friends and family as Janie, Dancing Queen, Mom, Sister, Aunt, and Ama. She is predeceased in death by her mother and father, stepfather. She is survived by her children Carlos Ortiz IV (Kathryn Marie Ortiz), Sabrina Yvette Jerrett (Anthony Jerrett), her brothers and sisters, Armando Clark (Debra Clark), Martin Clark, Thomas Clark Jr, Antonio Clark, Juana Clark, Margaret Clark Garcia, Lupita Garcia Perez, and Mary Yvonne Herrera, her grandchildren, Aaliyah Skye Robles "Lilly" and Addison Marie Ortiz "Addie Jo".
Funeral service will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, TX on March 6 th , 2021 at 10:00am. Flowers can be sent to Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX.
