San Juanita Garcia passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 23, 2020. To say she will be dearly missed gives no justice to this loss.   San Juanita was a devoted catholic.   She was surrounded by her sister, daughter , and grandchildren.  San Juanita was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley in Mercedes, Texas.  She is precedded in death by her mother Senona Flores and father Abraham Flores as well as her  sister San Juanita Flores.

She was an amazing daughter ,mother,sister,grandmother and friend.  She loved to cook, travel, take drives by the water and spend time with family.  Her hobbies included crochet, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles,   and dancing.

Her greatest pride and joy were her Grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughter Lorena Flores (Jose), Grandchildren Tabitha Valverde, Tristen Valverde, Tiffany Valverde, Ricardo Mendez III, Great-grandchild- Illyanna Jane Garza ; Brothers- Abraham Flores (Rose), and Dario Flores (Hilda) and her sister Minerva Garcia (Jesse), along with nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

There will be a memorial service held at Guardian Funeral Home on Friday September 11 at 1030-1pm with the burial to follow at 130pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
