Sammy (Eddie) Munoz, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 68 in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 17, 2022

He was born on August 9, 1954. He graduated from Moody HS in 1973. He was a track star and broke many records in the 400 and 400 relay.
Eddie proudly served in the US Navy from 1973-77 and was assigned to work on the Presidential Yacht, The USS Sequoia.

He worked for HEB as a truck driver for 38 years. He retired from HEB in 2009 and enjoyed retirement for a while, before going back to work for CCISD as the Athletic Field Manager. He officially retired, after 5 years there.

He enjoyed traveling and playing golf as well as his honey do list for his wife of 32 years. He was an avid woodworker and a jack of all trades. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Munoz; his daughters Michelle Munoz Owen (John Owen), Lori Munoz (Tessa Munoz), April Munoz (Keisha Cabrera), Jennifer Salomon; grand-children: Julian Jackson, Madeleine Palomo, Dae Palomo, Hannah Owen, Luke Owen, Miley Palomo; siblings: Brothers: Rudy Munoz, Arnold Lucio (Linda Lucio), Sister Nellie (Munoz) Washington (Tyrone Washington)

He is preceded in death by his Father, Wilfido Morin Munoz; Mother, Evina Lucio; Grandmother, Emilia Vela; Brother, Hector Munoz

Funeral Services will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022; 3-4 family viewing, 4-6:30 public viewing, 6:30-8 celebration of life service, Officiant, Rosendo Lopez, Jr.

Pallbearers: Charlie Haggerton, Dae Palomo, John Owen, Luke Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Charlie Haggerton, Jr.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11 am in Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.
