Rudolfo “Rudy” Merardo Maldonado, age 60, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on September 16, 1965, Rudy was a loving husband, devoted father, proud Grampy, caring brother, and loyal friend. He was known for his kindness, strength, unwavering work ethic, and willingness to help others. To many of his nieces and nephews, he was more than an uncle—he was a father figure and a source of guidance and support.

Above all, Rudy loved his wife of 44 years, Elia Maldonado, with all his heart. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and commitment. He was also a devoted father to Matthew Ramos, Robin Martinez, and Rudolfo Maldonado Jr. Nothing brought him more joy than being Grampy to his four beloved grandchildren.

Rudy dedicated more than 30 years of his life to working as a security officer before later joining Walmart's Automotive Department as a lube technician. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching football and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Raul Maldonado Sr. and Elva Maldonado, and his brother, Raul Maldonado Jr. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings Rosa Maldonado, Rene Maldonado, Roel Maldonado, and Ramon Maldonado, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Rudy’s love, strength, and devotion to his family will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
