Ruben DeLeon Soliz, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 4, 2019 at the age of 62,surrounded by his family after a long illness.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to his parents Demetrio O. Soliz, Sr. and Clara D. Soliz on January 22, 1956.
He was a loving son, brother, father, and FRIEND. He had such a kind soul with a genuine heart. We always said he had two sides, serious and funny, nothing in-between. He was our very own family Clown. His love for God and family was endless!
He was a musician at heart. He loved the accordion from the moment he placed his hand on it and he never let it go. He was a mason by trade and employed by CCISD.
He will be missed, but never forgotten
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Demetrio, Sr. and Clara; two infant brothers: Raul and Juan Soliz.
He leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his son Ruben Soliz, Jr. (Clarissa); grandchildren: Ruben, III, Rayanna, Matthew, Andrew, Sonny; sisters: Cristina Soliz (Johnny Camacho), Anna Serna; brothers: Demetrio Soliz, Jr. (Yolanda), Ernesto Soliz (Felipa), Martin Soliz (Thelma), Alfred Soliz (Annie); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Public Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 pm. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales/McArthur St., All Services will conclude after Funeral Mass.
