Roy Cordis Schotland, 86, passed away April 10, 2013. Roy was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 1, 1926. After graduating high school, at age 17 he joined the Navy and served as a radioman on a PT boat in the Mediterranean during World War II. He went to college in Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Patricia Carver. They married and he graduated with a degree in engineering. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Over the years Roy developed a reputation for being a strong leader and problem solver in the developing electronics industry.
On the home front, he and Pat had three children, Judith Lynn of Boston, Ma(1950), Susan Elaine of Corpus Christi(1954) and Jeffrey Carver of Kansas City, Missouri (1960). He was loved and admired for his intelligence, integrity, and wonderful sense of humor.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mirador Retirement community, 5857 Timbergate.
