Rosemarie Alvarez Barrera, went to be with our Lord on June 2, 2016. Rosemarie was born on May 14, 1965 to Ildefonso and Alice V. Alvarez in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rosemarie graduated Moody High School in 1983 and Del Mar College Cosmetology. She worked in several hair salons in Corpus Christi. Rosemarie is preceded in death by her father and a sister: Cynthia A. Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband Martin Barrera, daughter: Chloe C. Pena, son: Julian N. Pena, mother: Alice V. Alvarez, sisters: Norma (Robert) Olivarez, Melinda (David) Bassett, brothers: Edmund Alvarez, Arthur (Donna) Alvarez, Daniel (Valerie) Alvarez, David Alvarez, nieces and nephews: Rita (Mark) Macias, Michael, Aaron, and Thomas Olivarez, Arthur Blaise Alvarez, Alexander and Abigail Bassett. great-nephews: Joshua Downs, Anthony Macias, beloved pets: Odie, Whiskers, Milo

A Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday June 9, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home. The family will start accepting visitors at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday June 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saratoga Blvd.
