Rose J Elliott went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born to John and Eva Grzeskowiak in Alpena, Michigan where she lived with 2 sisters and 8 brothers. She later moved to Detroit Michigan where she studied nursing, then joined the U. S. Army at the beginning of WWII where she served as a riveter and army nurse. While practicing nursing at Hammond General Hospital in Modesto, California she met her future husband Reese Hunt Sr. They later moved to Texas and raised 4 children.|
Following Reese's death she worked at Corpus Christi National Bank for several years. She met Bill Elliott at a Widowed Persons Service held at Lindale Recreation Center where she fell in love with his voice before she ever saw him! During their 36 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling throughout the world. In their later years they enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reese, a son, Stephen, her parents, brothers Walter, Louie, Tony and John. She is survived by her husband Bill, her sons Reese Hunt Jr., Doug Hunt, daughter Barbara Hinnant, grandsons Reese Hunt III, Alan Hunt and great-grandchildren Reese IV, Georgia, Gage, Francesca, Joey and Joshua.
Visitation will be held at the Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel B, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm . A graveside service will follow at Seaside Cemetery at 2:30 pm .
