Rose Mary Clutts

October 14, 1927 – November 18, 2022

Mary was born in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence and Ella Ledingham the second of six children. Her family moved to California in 1937. Her mother died in 1944 and she and her brothers and sisters went to live with aunts in Mississippi.   She graduated high school in Poplarville, Miss.  In 1947 she and her older sister moved back to Oakland, CA.   She was employed at the US Naval Base in Oakland, CA.  She met and married her husband, Joe Clutts In 1954.   After the Naval Base closed, she worked in various occupations including drafting for many years until she retired  and  moved to Hornbrook in northern California to be near her sister and brother-in-law.

Mary was known to be artistic and had a talent for drawing.  She loved gardening and doing volunteer work.  At age 89 she decided she needed to be near her family and she came back to Texas to visit her sister, and then went on to Mississippi and lived with her brother, Clarence, until he passed away.  She has lived in Corpus Christi since 2019.

Preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, sisters, Ethel Brobst, Alice Ledingham and brothers, Clarence Ledingham, and David Ledingham.  She is survived by sister Ina Vick, and nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2022 at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery.
