Aguilar, Jr.
December 18, 1942 – June 23, 2020
Mr. Roman H. Aguilar, Jr., 77 years of age went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kingsville, Texas to Roman Aguilar, Sr., and Mercedes H. Cortez.
Roman was a cook all of his life. Mr. Aguilar was a good husband, Dad, son, brother, grandpa and loved all of his family very much. He was best known for his great cooking, his dancing, and most of all his sense of humor. He would tell us stories from his past that made all of us laugh.
Roman will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roman was preceded in death by his parents Roman Aguilar, Sr., and Mercedes H. Cortez, his step-father Gilberto Cortez, his loving wife of 47 years Emma M. Aguilar, his brother Leonardo (Kino) Aguilar, his sister, Teresa San Miguel, and great grandson Jesse (Noah) Silva, Jr.
He is survived by one son Luis H. (Mary) Aguilar, two daughters, Cindy Aguilar, Diane M. Selvera (Robert Tamez), his siblings, Juan Cortez, Mary (Manuel) Cano, Carmen Cortez, Charlie Cortez, Lee Roy Cortez, all from Kingsville,Texas, numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Roman was the best grandpa to his grand kids. He had ten grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3350 So. Alameda. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Luis R. Aguilar, Jesse E. Selvera, Joey Aguilar, Juan Cortez, Noe Fino and Aric Alvarez, Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Roman E. Greses
Special thanks to his granddaughter/provider Selina Silva who took care of her grandpa for five years.
