Rolando "Pulga" Vasquez, age 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2026, surrounded by all of his family.
Roland was born on April 11, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended West Oso High School and later built a career in the Oilfield business. Beyond his professional life, he was known for being a diehard Cowboys and Astros fan, he enjoyed bar b queuing for his family and friends, and he loved traveling with his wife. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
He leaves behind a loving family including his wife, Lydia R. Vasquez; his 10 children, Linda (Juan) Vasquez, Lydia Perez, Ruben (late Grace) Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Lisa (Gabriel) Medrano, Roger (late Zerana) Rodriguez, Laura (Esteban) Lopez, Robert (Aida) Morales, Roland Jr. (late Mindy) (Biological), Kristen (Paris) Greenwood (Biological); 31 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; his siblings, Eduardo (Sara) Vasquez Jr., Linda (Dr. Jorge) Sifuentes, Arnold (late Janie) Vasquez, John (Sarah) Vasquez, and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilia and Eduardo Vasquez.
Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. at Guardian funeral home with the funeral procession to depart at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic church 1101 Bloomington. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. A Reception will follow at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St./ Carolyn.
