Rojerio (Roy/Roger) Escobar, a Korean War veteran, was called home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2017 at the age of 88. Rojerio was a loving husband, father, grand-father, brother, and uncle who will be missed greatly. Rojerio served in the US Army as a Sergeant & Combat Medic. After the war he became a truck driver working in the oil fields. He then went on to be employed at the Corpus Christi Country Club as a greens keeper, keeping those fairways green. He then retired to do many of his favorite things.Rojerio is preceded in death by his parents, Eleuterio Sr. & Andrea Escobar; daughter, Alicia Escobar Reyna; son, Rojerio R. Escobar; brothers, Ricardo, Ramiro Sr., Eligio Sr., & Roque Escobar; sisters, Odilia E. (Nicolas) Jimenez, Mary E. (Joe) Flores, and Alicia Escobar; sister-in-laws, Beatrice, and Corina Escobar; As well as his beloved in-laws, Ruben & Josefina Rosales.He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie; daughter, Alma Adriana (Henry) Rodriquez; son-in-law, Roberto Reyna; daughter-in-law, Patricia Escobar; brothers, Rafael, and Eleuterio Escobar Jr; sisters, Andrea (Oscar) Hinojosa, Angie (Jesse) Adame, and Polly Escobar Lopez; sister-in-laws, Elida, Juanita, and Jesusa Escobar, Nelda Rosales, Mary (Tom) Ramirez, Joann (Russ) Woods; brother-in-laws, Ruben (Sylvia) Rosales, and Robert (Hilda) Rosales; grand-children, Roger, Erica, and Eric Escobar, Robert (Alicia) Reyna, Richard Reyna, Amanda (David) Copeland, Ana Maria (Juan) Nieto, Adriana Angel and Julian Rodriquez; and his three precious great-grandsons, Gabriel, Joel and Elijah Rojerio Reyna.Rojerio was a musician who loved to play guitar & sing. He enjoyed hunting & fishing. He was handy with tools and loved building & fixing things. He planted gardens to bring life to plants. He also loved to go and relax at the game room. Rojerio will be remembered for always thinking of FAMILY first, he wouldn't hesitate to help anyone in need. He touched so many with his laughter & song!Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, at Guardian Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5830 Williams Dr. Corpus Christi TX 78412. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
