Rogelio Resendez passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 14, 2019 at the age of 89.
Born in Roma, Texas to his birth parents Octavio and Teresa Salinas on August 11, 1929. Shortly after his birth, he was adopted by Emilio and Isabel Resendez, who raised him.
A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

On July 30, 1956 two hearts would become one, as Rogelio and Aracelia would join in the bond of marriage. From this union, they would bring to life four beautiful daughters, forging a lifetime of laughter and love.
It is nearly impossible to express all of the wonderful memories which Rogelio blessed us with, or to try and capture, in only a few words what a great man he was. He fought day in and day out to ensure that his family was well taken care of, to say that he was a "hard worker" is an understatement. As husband he provided unfailing love and stability. As a father he provided strength, guidance and the enduring love of a dad. When he wasn't cracking jokes you could find him singing folk songs like, "Oh My Darling" to his grandchildren or listening to a spanish corrido. His zest for life will never be forgotten. Until we meet again dad.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Octavio Salinas, Romeo Salinas, Irma Ponce, Reynaldo Resendez; both his birth parents and his adoptive parents.

Rogelio leaves behind to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of nearly 63 years Aracelia M. Resendez; daughters: Patricia Resendez, Natalia (Augustine) Garcia, Sandra Garcia, Dennise (Joseph) Gilreath; grandchildren: Patrick, Laura, Alex, Joshua, Amy, Jake, Jordayn, Luke; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousin whom he loved.

Public Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Guardian Funeral Home with a Chapel Service to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
Burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery will follow at 1:00 p.m.
