Obituary

Rogelio (Roger) V. Casarez passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the age of 78 years old. Roger was born on June 6, 1943 in Yorktown, Texas to Enrique T. Casarez and Josefa Vega.
Roger was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather to his family.  He met the love of his life in 1955 at her cousin's house, they then married on November 3, 1963.
Everyone that crossed his path became a friend. He would always welcome anyone and everyone into his home(Holiday Inn).
Roger was a barber for 58 years and made lasting friendships with his clients. Some of his favorite past times were hosting various parties for  his family and friends by bar-b-qing and bartending. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, traveling, and supporting his grandchildren in various sporting events. He was a BIG fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and Corpus Christi Hooks.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Enrique and Josefa Casarez, brothers Mariano and Enrique (Henry) Casarez and in-laws Ismael and Maria de Jesus Arsuaga and brother-in-law Jose Mariano (Joey) Arsuaga.  He is lovingly remembered  by wife Mary Ellen Casarez, brother Jose Santos (Margie) Casarez, sister Mary Ester (Mel) Moriada, daughters Abby (Kevin) Sacky and Melissa (Sean) Majek, and grandchildren Gabriella, Annika, Mia, Rhianna, Jonathan, and Philip as well as numerous family and friends. He was considered an older brother by his wife's siblings and spouses.
The family would like to thank Msgr. Mark Chamberlin, the staff and nurses at Coastal DaVita Dialysis, Dr. Ronald Stephens and Dr. Parchi Italiya at Well Med, and Nurse Christi from Elara Caring for all of  their hard-work, support, and guidance.
