Rodrigo R. Perez, 69, and known to all his family and friends simply as "Yoyo" passed away on December 25, 2014. He was born on July 30, 1945 in Galveston, Texas to Zoila & Esequiel Perez, Sr. After attending Miller High School and graduating from Barber college he began his barbering career in 1964. After a short time, he opened Yoyo's Barbershop on the Westside of town. Yoyo loved barbering and loved serving many of his faithful clients (who were really his good friends). He was considered by many as the "best barber" in town. On June 25, 1966, he married the love of his life Mary Lou Pena and shared 48 loving years and three children. He was a member of Templo La Trinidad church, where he loved to play his guitar and fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather to his family. Rodrigo was preceded in death by his father, Esequiel Perez, Sr. and Brother, Esequiel Perez, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Perez, sons Rodrigo (Ivette) Perez, Jr., Richard (Adriana) Perez, daughter, Melissa (Manuel) Perez-Garza, six grandchildren, Marisa, Rodrigo, Valerie, Victoria, Azriel and Jacob. Rodrigo is also survived by his mother, Zoila Adames, brothers, Richard (Esparsi) Perez, Victor (Tracy) Adames, sister-in-law Carmen Perez, three nephews and four nieces whom he loved all very dearly. A Church service will be celebrated on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Templo La Trinidad 719 Waco St. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Guardian funeral home chapel A with an Evening Service at 7:00 p.m. On Monday, December 29, 2014 Visitation will continue at Guardian funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Pallbearers will be Richard Perez, Rodrigo Perez, Jr., Richard Esequiel Perez, Manuel Garza, Esequiel "Zeke" Perez,III, Michael Navarre.
