Rodrigo (Rod) Rodriguez, Jr. 52, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born on December 19, 1969 to Rodrigo Rodriguez, Sr. and Yolanda Rodriguez at the Naval Base in Corpus Christi. He was a 1988 graduate of Moody High School and Del Mar College.

He started his career as an orderly at Southside Community Hospital. He then went to Bay Area Hospital where he was a part of the planning and initial opening. South Texas Surgical Hospital was his next job where he worked as a Certified Anesthesia Tech. Corpus Christi Outpatient Surgery (CCOS) was his present job as a Certified Anesthesia Tech.

He was friends to many and never met a stranger. He was an avid fisherman and often fished from his boat named after his great-grandmother, "Little Maria." Donating dog food and blankets to pet shelters and rescues was a must to him. DIY projects, cooking and watching sports plus caring for his pets; Jack, Big Mike, Buddy, Jessie, and step-dog LOS; Cats: Precious, Norman, and Sherman is how he spent most of his time. He spent many weekends helping Mando at the ranch fixing fences, feeding cows or fixing the corral. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor. He had planned to ride his Harley that he had recently purchased. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his mother: Yolanda Rodriguez Gonzalez, Step-father: Amando Gonzalez; One brother: Phillip Rodriguez (Stephanie); Granddaughter: Dayna Salinas (+) ex-wife: Espie Rodriguez; Step son: Justin Salinas; Nephews: Dominic Rodriguez (Tegan), Christopher Rodriguez (Abby), Rico Cano; Great niece: Anastacia Rodriguez and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death: Father Rodrigo Rodriguez Sr.; Paternal Grandparents: Guadalupe Rodriguez & Glafina Rodriguez; Maternal Grandparents: Guadaupe Gallardo & Anestacio Garza; Nephew: Jacob Jesus Rodriguez.

In lieu of flowers – donations may be made to an animal rescue/ shelter or Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary.

His family prays that when you think of Rod you remember him with a smile and love in your heart.

Memorial services to Celebrate Rod's life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Guardian funeral home chapel at 6:30 p.m. the family will receive friends and family from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
