Rodolfo Garcia Chavarria of Corpus Christi, Texas was 70 years old when our good Lord called him home. Rodolfo, also known as Rudy or more lovingly referred to as Babe passed away at home peacefully in his sleep March 25th 2020.
Babe was born February 19, 1950 to Natividad Garcia Chavarria and Martiniano Chavarria at Memorial Hospital. He was a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, class of 1968 and attended Texas A&I Kingsville on a scholarship.
Babe was married to his soulmate Rosanna Trevino Chavarria on July 27, 1979 and were happily married for 40 years. Together they had two daughters who were the apple of his eye. He was actively involved in their lives and served as PTA President at South Park Middle School and Roy Miller High School.
Babe worked at Nustar Energy for over 30 years and was an integral part of the company. He worked as a pipeline technician and had an impeccable work ethic.
He is survived by his loving wife, daughters, grandsons, sister and brother in law, nephews, nieces, and grand nephews; Rosanna Trevino Chavarria, Jessica Christina Sustaita (Alex Sustaita), Nati Chavarria, Rodolfo Nati Chavarria-Flores, Alejandro Gerard Chavarria-Flores, Maxamilliano Sustaita, Emiliano Nicolas Chavarria, Josefina Trevino Anes, Gilberto Anes III, Gilberto Anes IV (Alexandria Anes), Jennifer Anes, Corina Lopez (P.J. Lopez), Troy Anes and Isaiah Lopez.
Babe was a giant bear of a man and if you saw him walking down the a dark street you would probably cross it to avoid him, but if you knew him, you knew he had the most gentle, kindest, and generous soul imaginable. He was the type of man who would stop to help a stranger change a flat tire. Babe was a family man above all things, and his absence has left a giant hole on our hearts. He was a jokester, and could spin a yarn like no other. His stories could captivate anyone in earshot and would have people hanging on his every word. Babe was a brilliant man and could command the attention of any room he walked into. He loved spending time with his family, going to movies, eating out, listening to music, rooting for the Cowboys and was a hardcore Buc. Babe was the patriarch of the family and his absence has left us broken. He has left his pain and illnesses behind and we are left better for knowing his love, he gave us a lifetime of beautiful memories.
A viewing will be held April 1st, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home & Crematory from 4-8 pm, rosary to start at 7 pm.
