IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roberto Isidro
Escalona
June 7, 1988 – September 23, 2025
Roberto Isidro Escalona, 37, passed away on September 23, 2025. He was a son, brother, partner, uncle, and friend whose warmth, laughter, and love touched everyone who knew him.
A proud veteran, Robert served his country with honor as an Infantryman in the United States Army. His bravery and dedication were recognized through many awards, including the Army Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the highly respected Combat Infantryman Badge. His service reflected his deep love of his country and his willingness to put others before himself.
Robert is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Isidro II Escalona.
He is survived by his parents, Maria "Lola" Escalona and Isidro Escalona; his devoted partner, Madison Mendez; his sister, Andrea Escalona, and her companion, Alex Flores; and his cherished niece and nephews. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles: Melissa E. and Eric Martinez, Silvestra C. and Carlos A. Herrada, Florencia E. Beattie, Manuela E. Munoz, Gerardo Torres, and Eloy Torres; along with many cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever carry him in their hearts.
Robert lived his life full of joy and curiosity. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, floating down the river with friends and enjoyed an occasional drink with great company. He loved being an uncle, whether it was making his niece and nephews laugh or showing up to support them. He poured his whole heart into that role. Robert also had a gift for storytelling. He could spin a tale that made you laugh until your stomach hurt, and he listened just as well, making people feel truly heard. His love for travel took him across the world, where he explored new cultures, historic sites, and the breathtaking lakes of Switzerland, which gave him a sense of peace and renewal.
Those who knew Robert will remember his kindness, his generosity, and his smile that could brighten any room. He was the type of person who would stop what he was doing to help someone in need. No matter where you met him, in passing, at a gathering, or at home with family, he made you feel valued and respected. His love for his family was everlasting; he gave of himself fully in everything he did.
In lieu of flowers, Robert would want people to honor his memory by sitting with a friend, sharing stories, and raising a pint together. Remember that he loved you, and that although his time here was short, it was filled with more love and laughter than we ever could have hoped for.
Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m., followed by shared memories of Robert's life.
