Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving family; parents, Robert Martinez, Sr., and Maria L. Martinez; brother, Alberto (Laura) Martinez; nephews, Jacob and Albert Calob Martinez; his princess niece, Alison Martinez; sister, Melissa (Loy) Garza, and his stepchildren: Amanda (Adan) Garcia and Joshua (Tammy) Flores.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Benito and Maria Martinez; maternal grandparents, Ramiro and Maria Salinas; uncles: Ben Martinez, Rudy Martinez and John Salinas; aunts: Diana Martinez, Maria Elena Martinez, Epie Martinez and Olivia Sanchez.
Now that we are done with all the formalities, let us remember Robert as the person he truly was: 'Big Bob', the big hearted, charming, avid lover of music, ladies man. Big Bob lived for his family. He was a selfless and caring son. He was a protector to his siblings. Big Bob's heart gave away his personality. It was full of faith and compassion. One of his best qualities was that he listened without judging because it was God's duty not his. Big Bob was very humble and he lived through his Faith and Prayer. He was the ideal friend, always willing to lend a hand and believed in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. But don't be fooled, If you knew Big Bob, then you know that he is the reason the word 'charming' was added to the dictionary. His charm made it easy to love him and his laughter was always heard from afar, it was addicting. He certainly knew how to make everyone smile. His love for music consisted of conjunto, mariachi and 80's music. Jaime y Los Chamacos, Javier Galvan and Jimmy Gonzalez were on the top of his list. His motto was: If I cannot hear you singing, while dancing, without the music, then please get off the dance floor. As the young man he was, he enjoyed his years at Roy Miller High School. Some of his best moments were on the football field where he was a three year all district center. He was most proud of the one job he possessed; protecting his quarterback/brother, Albert. Big Bob never forgot where he came from. He was a true Miller Buc; he bled purple and had a heart of gold.
His Legacy was to celebrate life; with laughter, memories and lots of music. Family and Friends: Join us in fulfilling his legacy and as Big Bob would say 'Much love and great health to all.'
