Roberta Jo Nunn Kostka 86 years old passed away while holding the hand of her husband on March 13, 2024. They were married for 64 years.

Roberta was born on November 7, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. Both her parents Joe and Nannie Lou Nunn have preceded her in death Roberta was an exceptional woman, valedictorian in high school at Columbus, Texas, and Phi Beta Kappa graduating from The University of Texas in 3 years, 2 years Later she went back to UT and completed her Masters Degree.
Roberta taught school in Tylertown, Mississippi for 3 years and 30 years in CCISD teaching in Special ED at Woodlawn Elementary and in the Athena program at Windsor Park and Baker Middle School. She especially enjoyed sewing costumes for the Medieval Pageant and helping Mrs. Gordon and the students produce the extravaganza.
Roberta was one of the few CCISD Teachers that took and passed the Texas Master Teachers Exam when it was offered.

Roberta was a member of the Texas Alpha Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority of teachers and educators in Corpus Christi and hosted many memorable Thanksgiving meetings in her home. Roberta is survived by her husband Willie Joe Kostka and her son Joe Kirk Kostka.
