Robert Rivera, 77, passed away on May 24, 2022.

Robert was a graduate of Miller High School and graduated from Texas A & I University with a Bachelor's Degree. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class and as a Hospital Corpsman from 1966 to 1970. He was employed by the Corpus Christi Independent School District and later worked for Budweiser Distributing Company. Robert was past president of the Pan American Golf Association and a member of the American Legion Post #364. Robert was well known and loved by his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He loved listening to music, enjoyed playing golf with his friends, and was an avid gardener that tended to his beautiful flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan C. and Dominga Cavazos Rivera and two brothers, Alfredo and Armando. He is survived by his brother Arturo Rivera, companion, Norma Borchard, ex-wife, Arlene Villarreal, step-daughter, Alexandra (Allen) O'Rourke, step-grandchildren, Catalina, Mariana, and Esperanza O'Rourke.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home chapel.

Burial will follow with full military honors at 2:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas.
