IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Sterling
Pinkerton
July 22, 1933 – October 25, 2021
Robert "Pinkie" Pinkerton was born July 22, 1933, the son of Ro and Lucille Pinkerton. He passed away peacefully on Monday October 25, 2021.
"Pinkie" is survived by his wife, Shirley Rose, his sister Mary Sue Morris of Gonzales, his 4 daughters Gina Pinkerton of Oklahoma City, Debbie Pinkerton and Rhonda Henslee of Corpus Christi, Karen and Bruce Kowalik of Corpus Christi, and Lucille and Oscar Berrones of Austin; his grandchildren Matthew Pinkerton, Heather Perez of Corpus Christi, and Luna Berrones of Austin; and great grandchildren Jaidynn Silkwood and Otto Lichtenberger of Corpus Christi. There was nothing that made him happier than to have all his family together.
Our dad touched the hearts of anyone he crossed paths with, bringing them to smile, laugh, and talk about anything with him. It didn't take him much to strike up a conversation, even on the days he was getting closer to returning Home. He was the keeper of our family memories, he loved sharing family stories of our travels, celebrations, and the 68 years of marriage to Shirley.
Pinkie was dedicated to his family and providing for them. He believed in hard work and commitment to all his jobs from serving in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, saving lives as a Firefighter, and keeping the operations running safely at a refinery as the Operations Manager. He worked any shifts necessary, no matter the hours, to keep things running in tip top shape.
He did not falter in his devotion to his faith community. Pinkie and Shirley dedicated many years to the Catholic Church, leading bible study groups, marriage and family encounter weekends, making so many lifelong friends that became a part of our extended family.
Public Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 202 1 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5620 Gollihar Rd. with the Burial to follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
